Film diary & personal movie watchlist · Beta

Your taste. Your next film.

Save films, rate what you watch, and let your own signals make the next choice less of a scroll. One private film space—not another streaming service.

Start my film log — no signup needed for a device-only diary. No payment. No notification emails.

Three steps to a more useful shortlist

1. Pick your services

Choose your viewing region, then tick your streaming memberships. Your choices put those provider searches first and also personalise your streaming guide. No provider login is needed. Skip or edit setup without losing your films.

2. Save your films

Add titles and years. Keep remakes separate. Mark films seen, saved or uncertain. Import a film-log JSON export privately after reviewing it; current streaming offers and prices are never imported as verified facts.

3. Rate, then adapt

Liked gently lifts similar recorded genres and moods. Didn’t like gently lowers similar films; one dislike does not ban a whole genre. OK is neutral. Recorded runtime, language and gore add smaller signals. The order updates immediately after ratings change, without an AI call. Change any vote to refine it again.

How Film Log learns your taste

Basic recommendations come from your own watchlist. They use a private preference summary derived from actual ratings—not background model training, inferred sensitive traits or a claimed full provider catalogue. Seen, uncertain and hidden films are excluded from next-watch picks. Optional AI is account-only and runs only after explicit consent and a button press; it only reorders saved candidates.

Read the viewing label first

Included with a service you pay for

A subscription offer is not free streaming. Your plan, add-on channels and regional rights still need checking with the provider.

Free or free with ads

A free viewing option has no rental charge, but ads, accounts and local conditions may apply. BBC iPlayer requires a UK TV Licence.

Rent or buy

A separate per-film payment. No guessed cheapest price, HD or 4K claim is shown.

Where source-reported regional offers are enabled, labels and a source-checked date distinguish these groups. Catalogue search and verified offers remain gated while commercial data permissions are confirmed. Service searches and legal free-service links are useful now but never proof that a specific film is available.

One diary. Nine regions.

UK, US, Brazil, South Africa, Australia, Canada, Germany, Argentina and India. Changing region updates provider searches, not your watched-film history. Your ratings, notes and choice of device or account storage are yours.

Private by design

Device mode stays in this browser; a shared device can read its local log. Choose account mode for private cross-device storage and explicitly review device-to-account imports. Export your films whenever you want. Private diary pages are not indexed by search engines. Personal film titles and notes do not go to site analytics.

Questions before you start

Does it recommend films I have not saved?

Not in this beta’s basic shortlist. It orders your saved unwatched films and explains why. It does not pretend to have the complete catalogue of every service.

Can I bring my trained private film log?

Review and import its film JSON export. Liked, OK and disliked ratings shape your new shortlist immediately. Existing ratings are preserved; notes remain private. Availability and prices must be checked again, not trusted from a screenshot.

Does it cost money to update my taste?

No. Automatic rating-based ordering needs no paid AI request. Optional account AI has explicit consent and a small daily request limit.

A separate space for films—your full TV guide, followed shows and genuine streaming links stay where they are. Send feedback or a feature request.
